Frequently Asked Questions

No, it does not. Extensive scientific and field testing has confirmed that ProGuard technology does not impact terpenes, THC, cannabinoids, or the overall quality of the product.

Yes, it does. ProGuard is specifically designed for high humidity and dense grow room environments. Our proprietary photocatalytic process converts water vapor (humidity) into advanced oxidation sanitizers, including hydroxyls and hydrogen peroxide vapor. In higher humidity conditions, this process generates more sanitization, providing enhanced protection.

ProGuard is effective at all humidity levels. We recommend maintaining the humidity that best suits your growing style and needs. As humidity levels rise, ProGuard will automatically increase its sanitization output to match.

Yes. The ProGuard technology can work well in all humidity levels.

For optimal results, we recommend operating the units 24/7 in properly sized areas. Keeping the units running ensures continuous protection for your environment. When the units are turned off, the technology ceases to function and will not provide any sanitization benefits, so running them consistently is the best way to maximize their effectiveness.

ProGuard employs two distinct sanitization processes to actively eliminate pathogens in your space:

1. ARC Photocatalytic (PCO) Process: This proprietary process converts oxygen and humidity into a dry vapor form of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). The H₂O₂ oxidizers effectively kill mold, mildew, bacteria, and viruses throughout the room.

2. Bi-Polar Ionization (BPI): Our unique BPI technology generates positive and negative ions that work in tandem with the ARC process. These ions attract pathogens, which are magnetically charged, and deliver the H₂O₂ vapor directly to them. This kills the pathogens on contact, both in the air and on surfaces throughout the room.

How does ProGuard technology differ from UV, HEPA, and other PCO technologies?
ProGuard technology stands out because it is “active” rather than “passive,” meaning it proactively sends out sanitization that eliminates pathogens throughout the entire room, not just those that are directly delivered to a device or filter.
Here’s how it compares:

• UV Technology: UV systems are limited because they require direct exposure to kill pathogens. They are typically installed in HVAC systems and cannot be used in occupied spaces. They only kill pathogens that are delivered to the UV, and cannot destroy pathogens inside the room or on the plant surfaces.

• HEPA Filters: HEPA filters capture pathogens that pass through them but cannot kill them. Once pathogens are trapped in the filter, they remain there and can potentially multiply, posing a risk of being released back into the room and recreating more contamination problems.

• Other PCO Technologies: Similar to UV and HEPA, other PCO technologies are often passive. They only address pathogens that come into contact with the PCO chamber and do not actively seek out or eliminate pathogens throughout the room or on surfaces leaving your rooms vulnerable and unprotected.
In contrast, ProGuard’s active sanitization processes continuously work throughout the room, offering more comprehensive protection.

Yes, we do. We have conducted university studies that demonstrate ProGuard's effectiveness in killing various pathogens. Additionally, we have side-by-side comparisons performed by research scientists, as well as numerous field studies conducted with cannabis and commercial customers.

While ProGuard technology is highly effective at destroying mold and mildew, we cannot guarantee 100% elimination. It significantly reduces pathogen issues and helps prevent outbreaks, but it is not a complete solution on its own. Effective environmental control—such as managing humidity, temperature, air flow, and following proper operating and cleaning procedures—is still essential. Additionally, some plant genetics and strains are more susceptible to diseases. ProGuard works best when combined with good environmental practices and healthy plant genetics.

Yes. The maintenance is minimal. The ARC - PCO cell should be replaced every 12 months. The ARC - PCO cell is the catalyst that creates the advanced oxidation that attacks pathogens and sanitizes the environment.

The Filters should be replaced about every 3 months depending on the indoor environment. The maintenance is quick and easy and can be performed in minutes. All maintenance parts can be purchased through our website.

Yes, ProGuard is highly recommended for use in dry rooms. Contamination issues, such as gray mold and botrytis, often arise during the drying process. Using ProGuard in these rooms helps prevent such contamination and protects your harvest.

What distinguishes the DXB 100 from the Defender is the ARC PCO cell inside each unit. These cells are customized to meet different environmental conditions and specific needs.

The DXB 100 unit uses an ARC PCO cell optimized for rooms with High humidity and High density plant growth such as grow rooms, and dry rooms that utilize good air flow to distribute the sanitization throughout the room. The ARC Cell inside the DXB 100 creates an ionized hydrogen peroxide vapor and low and safe levels of ozone making it optimal for (Veg rooms, Flower rooms, Mother rooms, Dry rooms, Greenhouses)

The Defender unit uses an ARC PCO cell inside optimized for Low airflow, Low Density and typically Lower humidity environments. The ARC PCO cell in the Defender is modified with a (no ozone) producing cell and is designed for processing areas and high traffic work spaces such as (Trim Rooms, Packaging Rooms, Extraction Rooms, Vaults & Corridors)

What distinguishes the DXB Mini from the Defender Mini is the ARC PCO cell inside each unit. These cells are customized to meet different environmental conditions and specific needs.

The DXB Mini unit uses an ARC PCO cell optimized for rooms with High humidity and High density plant growth such as grow rooms, and dry rooms that utilize good air flow to distribute the sanitization throughout the room. The ARC Cell inside the DXB Mini creates an ionized hydrogen peroxide vapor and low and safe levels of ozone making it optimal for (Veg rooms, Flower rooms, Mother rooms, Dry rooms, Greenhouses)

The Defender Mini unit uses an ARC PCO cell inside optimized for Low airflow, Low Density and typically Lower humidity environments. The ARC PCO cell in the Defender Mini is modified with a (no ozone) producing cell and is designed for processing areas and high traffic work spaces such as (Trim Rooms, Packaging Rooms, Extraction Rooms, Vaults & Corridors)

Yes, ProGuard is highly effective in greenhouses. We work with many of the largest cannabis greenhouses and help them achieve amazing results. For small to mid-sized greenhouses, the DXB 100 is recommended, as it covers up to 500 square feet.

For larger greenhouses of 10,000 square feet or more, we suggest using the OverWatch unit. It covers up to 2,500 square feet and is ideal for extensive greenhouse environments.

Yes, ProGuard is available worldwide. For orders outside the US, please contact us, and we'll connect you with a distributor who handles orders in your region.

Yes, ProGuard ™ uses an “organic” process that is completely safe for occupied environments. Lab tests showed that the technology does not create undesirable or harmful chemicals. It is completely safe for humans, animals and plants.
